Addressing the WIT Land Sciences event at the WIT Arena, Gerry Boyle, Director of Teagasc referred to the ladder system which sees students progress. “It’s fantastic to see so many students transitioning from a level 5 or 6 in Teagasc and completing a higher level programme in WIT up honours degree level and as far as Masters and PhD level here at the institution.
“That was one reasons and one of the continuing reasons that we are, in Teagasc so supportive of the higher education programmes here at Waterford Institute of technology.”
Dr Peter McLoughlin, Head of the School of Science at WIT explains what the plans for future partnership with Teagasc. “We are looking at and focusing on trying to offer different opportunities within the dairy space, enhance our research activity with Teagasc because we are constantly evolving. We are also looking at enhancing our CPD offering to the sector.”
